MATTHEW BISHOP
A proud father of three beautiful girls - Marnie, Lilly, and Victoria - Matthew is a four-time National Squash Champion, 2022 National Masters Champion and placed fifth in the world in 2018. He understands there’s a difference between making a living and making a life.
Matthew, a graduate of Dalhousie University’s Bachelor of Commerce program, has been growing his wealth management business since 2000. Through a series of mergers with retiring financial planners, he has been entrusted with the financial security of their clients as well as his own. He strives to maintain the excellent service these clients have received for decades as they pursue their financial goals.
Expect an open and friendly conversation when you’re with Matthew. While financial matters can be complex, he believes conversations about finances don’t have to be. He prefers plain language, straightforward planning, and informed decisions for his clients.
NORM COLLINS, BMATH, FCIA, FLMI, RETIREMENT ASSESSMENT CONSULTANT
After graduating form the University of Waterloo, Norm continued his studies. He became a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries. This background is the foundation for his ability to analyze and provide retirement assessments. Norm spent the majority of his career as an actuary with Maritime Life, focusing on both life insurance and investment products. He was also involved with a number of acquisitions. Norm ‘retired’ early, but continued to consult, focusing on providing personalized retirement assessments in order to help clients understand their financial future.
Over the years Norm has volunteered with a number of organizations, but has recently found his niche as an advocate for pedestrian/crosswalk safety. He is the president and treasurer of the Crosswalk Safety Society of Nova Scotia: the driving force behind the successful crosswalk flag program here in Halifax. This program has expanded throughout Nova Scotia and elsewhere in Canada.
Norm believes every retirement situation is unique. It requires a customized analysis that will guide not only you, and help Matthew in developing an appropriate investment strategy for you.

JENNIFER LETOURNEAU, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Jennifer has more than 20 years experience working in the financial services industry. Prior to joining H&M Bishop Wealth Management she has held the following positions; Financial Planning Associate with Robbins Financial Inc. Account Executive position with Equifax Inc., Pension Financial Counselor with Maritime Life, and a Senior Financial Services Representative with RBC Royal Bank. Jennifer is the foundation of our business. She arranges appointment bookings, processes paperwork, as well as many other details that come with providing you the best possible customer service experience. More importantly, than her resume, is her character. Jennifer truly represents our core values of honesty, caring, integrity, accountability, passion, quality, and trust.
In addition to Jennifer’s business experience she is Cape Bretoner at heart who loves camping, hiking, and is devoted to her family. Jennifer and her husband, Kevin, have two daughters Emily and Sara.

MELISSA SHAKESPEARE, CONTROLLER
Melissa is a Chartered Professional Accountant (Chartered Accountant) and a graduate of Dalhousie University. Melissa supports our team with internal projects, monthly and annual filings and management. Melissa also represents our team core values; of honesty, caring, integrity, accountability, passion, quality, and trust. Melissa enjoys the game of squash, running and loves to spend time with her family, especially her 3 girls.
